I've always swayed more towards Capone's style when it came to CNN. He sounds like he's going through it. I like Nore's disposition when he raps. I look at it like it's more of another hustle for these guys.
I think they should have stayed slinging Islamic terms like in their earlier days. It connected them to the streets and struggle. I don't know how they didn't pick up on that.

HOUSE ISSUES SLAVERY APOLOGY

WASHINGTON-

The House of Representatives issued an unprecedented apology recently to black Americans for wrongs committed against them and their ancestors who suffered under slavery and Jim Crow segregation laws.

Congress has issued apologies before- to Japenese-Americans for their internment during World War II and to native Hawaiians for the overthrow of the Hawaiian kingdom in 1893. In 2005, the Senate apologized for failing to pass anti-lynching laws.

Five states have issued apologies for slavery , but past proposals in Congress have stalled partly over bullshit concerns that an apology would lead to demands fo reparations-PAYMENT FOR DAMAGES..Ya dig?

This recent resolution does not mention reparations. It does commit the House to rectifying "the lingering consequences of the misdeeds committed against African-Americans under slavey and Jim Crow".

It's time to get right about what was wrong and continues to be wrong with our country. It's a step in the right direction.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT...

I read an interesting column in the paper today by a lady named Shabina Bahl.
Heres a sampling of what she had to say in regards to a lot of talk amongst environmentalists about saving the planet.
She offered this advice: How about saving ourselves? Here are four things anyone can do today to S.O.S.
1. Bring your own bags to the store: According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. goes through 100 billion plastic bags a year. About 12 million barrels of oil is required to make that many bags and can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade. Just add "bring bags" to your shopping list as a reminder before shopping.
2. Eat less meat: A kilogram of beef is responsible for more geenhouse gas emissions than driving three hours while leaving all the lights on at home. Start small- designate one meal a week to be meat-free. Once that's manageable, increase it to an entire day.
3. Cut back on plastic water bottles: At as much as $2.50 per liter ($10 pe gallon) , bottled water costs more than gas. As Americans, we consume more bottled water than anyone else in the world. Pack a bottle of water before you leave the house and refill through the day.
4. Replace one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent: If every American home replaced one light bulb with a compact fluorescent bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year. Even Wal-Mart sells compact fluorescents, so anyone can find these bulbs at a reasonable price wherever they shop. No excuses!

The Unity '08 Convention will be the largest gathering of jounalists of color. Nearly 10,000 journalists and media executives will meet discuss timely issues affecting jounalism and the media industry.
I heard that this convention is the sure shot and a good place to network. For those of you that are interested in taking part , hit em up. Google them or something. Make it happen.
